Our Inspiration

Cynthia G. Peacock and Steven D. Morris, founding members of NYC SOUP, are respected business leaders in their circles and made the decision to launch the organization to cultivate more leadership within their networks.  Despite our financial and professional successes, we all felt the need for a unique space where we could share our resources with the marketing and business community at large. We understood that by connecting professionals, whether lawyers, media men, doctors or accountant, everyone could maximize their output by collectively making an effort to affect each other’s trades positively.

Therefore we created a place where NYC’s urban professionals could come together and garner leadership qualities to achieve measurable growth and prosperity. Today, NYC SOUP has emerged as a fulfillment of that dream. We bring together various businesses, local leaders and entrepreneurs with dreams in their eyes. Together we strive to empower and help each other achieve our individual goals and create a collective effort that will positively impact the New York Metro area and American economy at large.

Our Aspirations

The NYC Society of Urban Professionals is a young organization, still in its infancy, but we are focused on our goals and destination as successful referral partners! Our board, members, program participants and volunteers constantly serve as an inspiration to each other. We are proud of what the NYC SOUP community has achieved so far while looking forward to all the lustrous accomplishments next year will bring!  We really hope to see you at one of our trademark events. There is so much fine work to be done and it will be nice if you could join us!  We want to see our members and participants, from public and private sectorsalike, to gain knowledge and resources to help them with their jobs and businesses. Along with serving our members, we also have a commitment to serving our communities by creating business leaders of tomorrow; the kind of leaders who take pride in solving our most challenging financial and social issues.

Our Philosophy

NYC Soup was started as a better, more profitable alternative to online networking. We wanted it to be a faster and better way of building business contacts (i.e. tangible results and expanded network).  We strongly believe in Networking!  It is a prime example of the power of connecting people. Business networking brings about the kind of synergy that otherwise lacks in the business environment. By bringing together successful, motivated professionals, we can help create connections that can advance their business and our economy straight up to the next level... and beyond!
